Geoff and followers - at long last the new R&D Tax Credit is here! As of Friday 1 July the Federal Government's primary industry assistance driver will be the new R&D Tax Credit - it replaces the existing R&D Tax Concession and its supplementary programs for claims from the 11/12 year. A refundable R&D Tax Credit increases the yield from 7.5 - 15% if in profit and from 37.5 - 45c in the R&D dollar if in tax loss. Importantly, claimants with grouped tuirnover under $20m, as opposed to under $5m in the surrent scheme, will be eligible to claim the 45c refundable Tax Credit and use their tax losses to drive further R&D. Claimants with grouped turnover over $20m will receive a non refundable 10c in the dollar, also up from the previous 7.5c. Local subsidiaries of International companies, who hold the IP overseas but are conducting R&D in Australia, will also be eligible to apply for the first time. Be advised - new eligibility criteria and an increased complaince regime will apply.....welcome to receive any queries llew@tcf.net.au www.tcf.net.au
